Dear ICCF Delegates, Officials, and Friends,
 

The Finnish Correspondence Chess Federation (FCCF Finland), has the honour to invite all ICCF member Chess Federations around the world    to participate in the ICCF Congress 2011. The venue is the Hotel Scandic Järvenpää, (the same hotel as in 1991, then under the name Rivoli), between 31 July 2011 and 05 August 2011. The day 30 July will be reserved for EB/MC and other special meetings.

 

The Finnish Correspondence Chess Federation was founded in 1961. Our 50-year anniversary is in 2011. We welcome you to celebrate with us.


 

R e g i s t r a t i o n   a n d   t r a v e l

 

The deadline for registration is 30 June 2011. After that date the hosts cannot guarantee a room in the venue hotel.

Each delegate and each accompanying person must pay 100 € (Euros) as a deposit of the hotel price (per person) at the time of their registration (before 30 June 2011).  This payment is compulsory and represents a confirmation of participation.  If the reservation is cancelled before 30 June, the deposit will be returned.  If the reservation is cancelled after 30 June, the deposit is not refundable.

 

The venue is Scandic Hotel Järvenpää  about 23 km north of Helsinki-Vantaa Airport. 

 

Transportation to and from the Helsinki-Vantaa airport to the hotel is easy. Taxi is the best way, about 50 Eur one-way. An alternative is to travel by bus to the Tikkurila railway station and from Tikkurila by train to Järvenpää. There are 2-5 busses in hour from airport to the Tikkurila railway station and two trains in hour to Järvenpää,  H-train or R-train. Both are local trains and stop in Järvenpää. Our Finnish hosts can provide assistance with transportation from / to the airport.

The name of the participant will be published on a web page after the reception of the registration and the payment. The participant gets the confirmation via e-mail about his/her participation.

When registering any participant, the above mentioned deposit of 100 Eur per person must be transferred to the Organization Committee.  Payments should be done accordance with the instructions behind the following link:

The Scandic Järvenpää hotel is located in the centre of Järvenpää, with excellent connections to Helsinki-Vantaa airport and to Helsinki city centre.

Järvenpää offers great opportunities for recreational and leisure activities, all easily accessible from the Scandic Järvenpää hotel. Explore the town's Culture Trail, which will take you to the home of famous composer Jean Sibelius.

Hotel prices (including breakfast):

Single room 92 Eur, double room 102 Eur, triple room 126 Eur and children under 13 years are free. All prices are per day and per room.

The Scandic Hotel Järvenpää has wireless internet access.

The accommodation charges must be paid in advance.

Federations or participants who need assistance with their visas are asked to contact the Organization Committee before 30 June 2011.

 The Organization Director will supply official letters of invitation if requested by the participant.


W e a t h e r   c o n d i t i o n s

 

In early August the weather of southern Finland is warm and the daytime temperature is around 19º - 25º C. There is possibility of rain during this time.


 

E l e c t r i c i t y

 

The standard voltage in Finland is 230 Volts.  The plugs used for appliances are twin round plug.
